As we continue to look at zombies and the complexities that this particular lifestyle entails, it is important to understand that it is not a normal life. This is to say, that some would say, it is not a life at all. Lets say that we have a zombie and a human in the room, we pose the question, what is the difference? At first you would be quick to say that there is plenty of difference, you may even say that we are not flesh eating, growling, herding, blood-thirsty creatures, however, is that true? Now of course, there are not many normal people that crave the taste of human blood, however, we do crave animal blood, so what is the difference there? Also, some people may argue that we are not growling mindless creatures, but i would argue that you may be presented as such given the time of the day, or month. This is all to say that however hesitant and avoidant we are to find the similarities between humans and zombies, the fact is there are many similarities, the only good argument in regard to the differences is the soul.
First we must define what incorporates the idea of a soul. If someone has a soul the biggest attribute is that they have a sort of moral compass, an idea between right a wrong, this is what zombies do not have. As far as a zombie is concerned they don't think, but rather, react to the smell of food and act on their primitive instincts to survive.
The debate of the soul has gone on for many years, many scientists disproving this idea because of the fact that the soul cannot be viewed under a microscope, or be broken down into a mathematical solution. So, because of this controversy we are still posed with the question, what is the difference between zombies and humans? But, an even better question, is do you believe we have souls, or not?\
